The cost is $150 per club. Hawaii Youth Rugby SBRO is the Local Area Union (LAU) hosting clubs with high school, youth, rookie rugby, and girls/womens player divisions. The age of your players will determine their category and their individual cost - see Join HYR for age grades.
New Clubs will need about a week turn around time to establish a new entry with USA Rugby, submit your new club information online, then receive a reply email in about a week to proceed to register and pay for your club and its members. Please contact any of our Board Members on the Contact Us page if you should have any questions or concerns.
HYR started on the Big Island of Hawaii becoming a State Based Rugby Organization (SBRO) in 2009 and registering over 300 youth members each year there after. The Waimea area led the way followed by Kona and Hilo to form the basis of a competitive league. On the other islands, Maui and Oahu continue to build their youth members, with clubs from Oahu setting the pace for inter island events. We also enjoy national and international competitors to add to our match schedules and our meaningful camaraderie.

| History | Hilo Reign entered the HYR league in 2006 and provided some tough competition for the already established teams. The “Reign” in Hilo Reign was suggested by Tevita Moala as a play on words after yet another training session in the frequent rain which visits Hilo. Hopefully the Hilo team can capture the crown this year and justify their royal title. |
